Description

This is a two panel image captured under excellent seeing conditions. I used the 3X Barlow giving an image scale of 0.09 arc secs per pixel, which is sufficient sampling for a resolution of 0.27 arc secs or 500m. Each panel consisted of integrations from 4 minute videos for each of Red, Green, Blue and IR 642nm BP channels. The latter was used as Luminance to enhance the image sharpness and clarity.

Vallis Rheita is a linear valley 445kms long and 30kms at its widest, located in the South Eastern Quadrant. It is oriented radially to Mare Nectaris. At its north western end is the crater Rheita which is 25kms wide and 1km deep. Revision G shows the crater in detail and that features about 500m in size are resolved.
